Yhe work on the implementation of the policy of "open doors" initiated by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and broad international cooperation is successfully continuing in independent neutral Turkmenistan. The working meetings, business negotiations in bilateral and multilateral formats, business forums, exhibitions, conferences and other events held in February this year, on behalf of the head of state, by various ministries and departments contributed to the active development of political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian relations of Turkmenistan with foreign countries and authoritative organizations.
Particular emphasis in the foreign policy strategy being implemented under the leadership of the leader of the nation is placed on comprehensive interaction with partner states, especially neighbors, together with which important projects and programs are being implemented.
An example of this is the regular meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission of Turkmenistan on the Caspian Sea, held on February 1 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The results of the activities of the Commission over the past year were announced, the draft Action Plan for 2022 was discussed along with issues on preparation for the Sixth Caspian Summit and the development of draft documents scheduled for consideration at this high-level meeting.
An important event at the beginning of February was the celebration on the occasion of the inclusion in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of UNESCO of the craft of making dutar, performing musical art on it and the art of bakhshi, organized at the Mukam Palace of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan.
On February 4, within the framework of a working visit to the People's Republic of China, members of the Turkmen delegation, on behalf of the head of state, held a number of bilateral meetings with Chinese colleagues.
Thus, in Beijing, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov met with Member of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PRC Wang Yi, discissing the current state and prospects for further expansion of interstate relations, both bilateral and on a multilateral basis - on the platform of authoritative international organizations, as well as in the "Central Asia - China" format.
On the same day, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers S. Toylyev met with representatives of the healthcare system of friendly China, who expressed their deep interest in further continuation of joint work in various areas of the profile sphere.
Director General of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers M. Chakiev, in turn, held an online meeting with representatives of a number of Chinese companies, where issues of bilateral cooperation in the transport and communications industry were discussed.
The event, which took place on February 7 at the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammed Azadi, was attended by rectors, faculty members of universities, representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Turkmenistan, student youth and media workers.
On February 7, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan Shin Song-chul, during which the diplomats exchanged Congratulatory messages from the Presidents of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
On the same day, a telephone conversation took place between the leadership of the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, during which the importance of further intensification of intergovernmental contacts, in particular, through the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh Commission on economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation was emphasized.
The briefing held on February 12 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the participation of heads and employees of the foreign ministry, as well as heads of diplomatic missions and representative offices of international organizations accredited in our country, was dedicated to the historic decisions taken at the meeting of the Halk Maslakhaty of Milli Gengesh.
On February 12, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar, who arrived in our country on a working visit.
On February 15, the Sub-regional consultations were held for the states of Central Asia on preparation for the 66th session of the Commission on the Status of Women were held on the digital system, organized jointly with the Regional Office of the UN Women for Europe and Central Asia.

On the same day, as part of an online meeting with the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Baghdad Amreev, special attention was also paid to the issue of sending an observer mission from the Organization to participate in monitoring the preparation and conduct of the upcoming presidential elections.
On February 17, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Faisal Bin Farhan Al-Saud, during which they considered the possibilities of further expanding the political and diplomatic dialogue, noted the importance of regular bilateral political consultations, strengthening interstate cooperation within the framework of international organizations.
On the same day, a meeting was held at the Foreign Ministry with Chargé d'Affaires of the OSCE Center in Ashgabat R. Kastberg, at which the current state and prospects of Turkmenistan's partnership with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe were discussed.
The scientific-practical conference "Dialogue is a guarantee of peace", a festive concert and an exhibition, held on February 18 at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country, were dedicated to the Day of Diplomatic Workers of Turkmenistan.
At the meeting held on February 21, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Turkmenistan Qian Naicheng was presented with a letter from President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov addressed to President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping.
On February 22, on behalf of the head of state, a delegation of our country headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan R. Meredov visited the Russian Federation (Moscow), where a number of meetings were held to discuss topical issues for further comprehensive development of interstate dialogue.
During the meeting with the Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of Russia G. Karasin, emphasis was placed on the importance of further developing and building up inter-parliamentary cooperation, issues of preparing and holding the forthcoming Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asian countries and the Russian Federation in Ashgabat in May 2022 were discussed.
As a result of the negotiations between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, a Joint Statement of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs was adopted, and the following documents were signed: "Roadmap" of interaction between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation on regional security issues; Plan for the implementation of the main directions of the Turkmen-Russian cooperation in the field of ensuring international information security for 2022-2025; Plan of events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation.
On February 23 in Geneva, at a regular meeting of the General Council of the World Trade Organization (WTO), in accordance with Article XII of the Marrakesh Agreement on the establishment of this structure, the member countries of the General Council, having unanimously approved the application of our state, decided to grant Turkmenistan the status of an acceding country ( “active observer”) and, in accordance with the rules of procedures of the Organization, a Working Group on Turkmenistan's accession to the WTO was established.
On February 24, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the digital system with the Director of the Electoral Assistance Division of the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs Craig Jenness.
On the same day, on the occasion of the presentation of the World Health Organization award in gratitude and recognition of the selfless work of health and social workers, their invaluable contribution to the protection of the health and well-being of the inhabitants of our country, a solemn meeting was held at the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, in which was attended by leaders and employees of the relevant field, media representatives, as well as the Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Program in Turkmenistan, Ms. Narine Sahakyan, and the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Turkmenistan, Dmitry Shlapachenko.
On February 24-25, a "Structural Dialogue" between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and Great Britain took place via the digital system.
As a result of the Structural Dialogue, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries was signed.
The motto of the year "The era of the people with Arkadag" was dedicated to the online international media forum "The importance of the media in the development of Turkmenistan in the world community" held on February 25, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography, the State News Agency Turkmenistan.
On February 26, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Turkey Mehmet Mus.
On February 26, on behalf of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, a briefing was held at the Garagum Hotel on the adoption of the National Program for Turning Turkmenistan into a Tobacco-Free Country for 2022-2025 and the Action Plan for its implementation.
A comprehensive discussion of the issues of holding the upcoming presidential elections on March 12 at a high organizational level took place during a meeting organized on February 27 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in an online format with the diplomatic corps of the country abroad.
It was stated that as a result of active preparations for the elections, 41 polling stations were formed in the embassies and consulates of Turkmenistan located in 30 countries of the world.
On February 28, meetings were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Central Commission for holding elections and referendums in Turkmenistan with the Mission of Observers from the Commonwealth of Independent States, which arrived in the capital at the invitation of the Turkmen side in connection with the upcoming March 12 presidential elections in Turkmenistan. The mission was headed by the First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee - Executive Secretary of the CIS Leonid Anfimov.
Thus, the events of the past month serve as a clear confirmation of the high authority of Turkmenistan and the leader of the nation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the international community, as well as the further expansion of constructive cooperation with all interested countries in the name of world peace, progress and prosperity.
