The President of Turkmenistan received the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization

Today President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has received ECO Secretary General H.E. Mr. Khusrav Noziri who has arrived in Turkmenistan.

Welcoming the head of the state and having expressed sincere gratitude for the invitation to visit our country, the guest noted fruitful character of activity of Turkmenistan as active member of ECO and its chairman during the current year.

Sharing the impressions of Ashkhabad where he is for the first time, Mr. Khusrav Noziri marked that he is enslaved with beauty and magnificent architectural ensemble of the white marble coated Turkmen capital which is a visible embodiment of progress and prosperity of Turkmenistan under the wise and far-sighted leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Having thanked for congratulations and kind words, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that our neutral state is always open for wide interaction with all interested foreign partners, including with the authoritative regional and international organisations. Speaking of it, the leader of the nation with satisfaction ascertained growing dynamics of the dialogue with ECO with which rich experience of joint work was gained.

Throughout the meeting, the exchange of opinions on prospects of further partnership and its basic vectors in the context of present chairmanship of Turkmenistan in ECO and implementations of the corresponding Concept took place. The special attention was given to issues of preparation for the XV Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization, which will take place in Ashkhabad on November 28 – on ECO Day.

So, huge potential available for member states of ECO stipulates favourable possibilities for mutually beneficial cooperation in trade and economic spheres, industrial branches, area of introduction of innovations and high technologies and investments.

Having expressed to the leader of the nation deep gratitude for the given support in advancement of constructive and close partnership, Mr. Khusrav Noziri expressed confidence that the upcoming Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization in the Turkmen capital will be held successfully, at high organizational level and will be very substantial for what all conditions here are created. As was marked, from the side of ECO for this purpose all necessary arrangements will be also made.

At the end of the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and ECO Secretary General confirmed again adherence of our country and the Economic Cooperation Organization to the long-term fruitful dialogue directed to strengthening of friendly, good-neighbourhood interstate relations with a view of general well-being and progress.
