Today, our country widely celebrated the Day of Workers of Culture and Art, as well as the poetry of Makhtumkuli Fraghi.
The celebrations began in the park near the Makhtumkuli monument, which is located on one of the main highways of the capital - the avenue named after the great classic. Here, a ceremony of laying flowers at the monument of the outstanding Turkmen poet-thinker took place as a sign of recognition and admiration for his poetic genius, civic courage and ardent love for the Motherland, sung and glorified by him for eternity.
Hundreds of people, at the call of their hearts, have come today to the most beautiful corner of Ashgabat, where a sculpture of an outstanding poet carved out of stone rises above the water surface.
The first at the foot of the monument is a magnificent basket of flowers from President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in recognition and reverence for Fraghi's artistic talent and literary heritage, which is the property of the nation.
Then the bouquets of flowers were laid by representatives of ministries and sectoral departments, the administration of the capital, public organizations, scientists and cultural figures, honorary elders and student youth.
Leading Turkmen artists, young pop singers, and rising stars of the national stage took part in the colorful performance under the motto “Kalba ynam, köňle ylham beryär medeniýet”.
Ceremonies of laying flowers at the monuments of Makhtumkuli were also held today in the administrative centers of all velayats of the country. The bright festive palette includes numerous creative meetings and poetry evenings.
