Ashgabat hosted a concert of art masters dedicated to the Day of Constitution and State Flag of Turkmenistan. “White City Ashgabat” monument, which was opened on May 24, 2014 with participation of the head of the state, has been selected as a place for celebration concert.
25-meter show-white monument was built in the center of the capital on the avenue named after Magtumguly Fragi – great Turkmen poet, humanitarian and educator. One of the cultural centers of the country – the Main Drama Theatre, is located opposite the complex.
The top of the monument is decorated with olive branches, which embody permanent neutrality of the country. The composition of the monument includes columns, which symbolize policy for provision of global peace, security and sustainable development. Outlines of symbolical heart as a symbol of love, the name of Ashgabat means the city of lovers, are original elements of the complex. There is an open book at the foundation of the column, which is another meaningful image, which unites glorious history and new pages of the city’s destiny that would be written by future generations, and refers to the fact that Ashgabat is mentioned in the Guinness World Book several times.
Lit up with spot lights and outlined by the lights running down the column, the monument looks very impressive at night time. Flower compositions and water sprays of the fountains surrounding the complex were wonderful natural decoration of the celebration expanded at the square.
The concert was opened by literary and music composition performed by the chorus of Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory and folk bands of the country.
Popular vocalists and musicians, famous choreographic collectives have presented their original numbers. National tunes and songs, modern popular songs and dances, including those released for the first time, were performed under open sky.
Dedications to Turkmen capital have brought special tone to the celebration atmosphere of the concert. Undoubtedly, congratulations of children bands have sounded with special warmth. Traditionally, celebration program was accomplished with ancient kushtdepdy dance.
