President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has made a working trip to Ahal Region inspecting production activity of Miwe Open Joint Stock Company and facilities of its engineering and technical infrastructure. Matters related to rational use of water in agricultural complex and water management sphere in general were the subjects of close attention of the head of the state.
Comprehensive development of agricultural complex and best optimal implementation of its potential are priorities of economic strategy of Turkmenistan targeted to reformation and modernization of all branches of national economy on innovative basis. Large-scale reforms in agricultural sphere are aimed at its diversification, wide implementation of digital technologies, and increment of production volumes of various quality agricultural products.
Private sectors participates more actively in this process in the last years in the result of transit to marketing economy, targeted government support of entrepreneurship in agricultural industry. Number of modern profile production facilities, which make considerable contribution to solution of objectives for import substitution, provision of food abundance in the country, improvement of competency of local food products and increment of export agricultural production, grows in Turkmenistan due to creation of necessary conditions for effective activity of business structures.
At the same time, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pays special attention to rational use of water resources, scientific approach to the irrigation of agricultural fields. In this context, special attention is paid to practical introduction of advanced methods and technologies, which comply with principles of rational water use and environment criteria, to the branches of water management.
The helicopter of the head of the state has landed at special helipad next to the pump station, which provides water land fields of Miwe OJSC located in Kaahka district.
Having looked around water channel of the pump station and water treatment facility, the head of the state expressed interest in technological provision of this facility.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers E. Orazgeldieyv has introduced technical specifications of water pumping stations of Miwe OJSC, which were built using the best world practice, to the President. The water, which is required for irrigation of agricultural fields, is pumped to the first station using 6 400 KW water pumps installed at the 630th kilometer of the Karakum River.
The water goes to the second pumping station, which is located 12 kilometers away at the altitude of 61 meters, by the pipeline, from where it goes to the third station, which is located 10 kilometers away at the height of 62 meters. From the third station, the water is delivered to central water reserve with capacity of 70,000 cubic meters, which is located 5.5 kilometers away at the height of 60 meters.
Further, the head of the state expressed interest in operational characteristics of the first pumping station of Miwe OJSC. Vice-premier E. Orazgeldiyev has presented information about production capacity and technical specification of hydro-facility.
The water comes naturally from the Karakum River to the station equipped with powerful water pumping units. Total length of the pipeline system is around 27.5 kilometers.
Video, which gives visual imagination of the activity of Miwe Open Joint Stock Company, which is specialized in production of fruits and other crops, has been demonstrated to the attention of the President of Turkmenistan. The Gök Bulut, Hemsaýa, Miweli Atyz, Datly Miwe Business Entities are the shareholders of the Company. In general, 345 working places has been established in Miwe OJSC.
According to relative Resolution of the head of the state, every shareholder of the joint stock venture received 300 hectares of land at the territory of Watan Farming Association in Kaahka District in long-term lease. Total area allocated for production of vegetables, fruits and grapes is 1,200 hectares.
Thus, annual production capacity of the Gök Bulut Business Entity is 370 tons of nuts, 520 tons of apple, 140 tons of peach, 1,500 tons of pear. The Hemsaýa Business Entity plans to produce 180 tons of almond and 2,100 tons of persimmon per year.
Miweli atyz and Datly miwe business entities are also specialized in production of almond. It is planned to produce 340 and 320 tons of this valuable production per year.
In addition, 80 hectares have been allocated for modern greenhouses provided with modern specialized equipment for cultivation of vegetables and other crops including bananas and citric fruits. The production output of the greenhouse complex is 8,000 tons a year.
Each business entity has relative engineering and technical infrastructure and roads. It is planned to build a cold store and production facility for processing of agricultural products.
The video has also contained detailed information about water management facilities and irrigation system of Miwe OJSC. Mineral fertilization of fruit trees is also performed by drip irrigation method.
Further, the General plan of the Miwe OJSC lands and projects related to water management sphere have been presented to the President for review.
Vice-premier E. Orazgeldieyv gas presented general information about water collection system, its 1st, 2nd and 3rd facilities. From this place, the water goes to water reserve and further to direct to the fields by drip irrigation system. It enhance rational use of water, allows keeping watercourses clean. The irrigation process of agricultural fields is automated and controlled by digital system.
Chairman of the State Water Management Committee G. Bayjanov has reported on works to increase the capacity of water reserves, provision of efficient water management based on implementation of advanced resource saving technologies.
Minister of agriculture and Environment Protection A. Altiyev has reported on seasonal field works including care of winter crops and cotton according to agricultural standards, on the measures for organized preparation to the wheat harvest as well as on irrigation of the fields using modern technologies.
Chairman of the Union of Industrialists and Entreprenuers D. Hudayberdiyev has reported on activity of the UEIT for construction of water management facilities, in particular pump stations working based on technologies providing 35-50 percent saving of water, which is pumped up to 150 meters above the level of the Karakum River.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Ch. Gylyjov has reported on the situation of the region under his supervision as well as on work in the structures under his control. In this regard, it was informed about the measures for solution of water management issues.
Head of Ahal Region Ya. Gurbanov has reported on works in the region including in agricultural complex and on the measures undertaken for implementation of the methods of rational water use.
Having inspected the facilities, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused attention of relative officials on water management issues.
The head of the state highlighted that it is necessary to control the entire process from pumping water from the source to delivery to the fields for rational use of water resources in agricultural complex. For these purposes, it is necessary to continue work for construction of infrastructural facilities based on progressive methods, scientific achievements and best world practice in this sphere.
The head of the state has also focused on active participation of local businessmen in implementation of major projects and reformation programs.
In this context, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that they have to target on innovations in their activity.
The head of the state continued that our country has good experience in rational and efficient use of water, careful treatment of which is inherent to Turkmen people from the old days. In modern age, these wise traditions are reflected in program measures undertaken in the country for protection of natural, in particular, water resources, and implementation of profile projects.
It includes the construction of Altyn Asyr Turkmen Lake, a unique hydro technical facility in the center of the Karakum Desert, which in addition to its economic mission, has huge ecological and social significance. This grandiose project, which is aimed at solution of the problem of disposal and re-use of drainage waters, which are inevitable outcome of irrigated farming, is a visual example of careful treatment of environment in Turkmenistan.
Reserve of water is made up in the country in the result of the implementation of the project. Owing to natural filtration and application of modern technologies, this water can be used for requirements of agricultural complex including for development of new lands, expansion of pastures as well as for irrigation of plants and technical needs. The scientists make relative studies in the sphere. At the same time, implementation of this project makes positive effect on ecology of the Central Asia.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted that for stable development of agricultural complex and strengthening of food abundance, it is necessary to increase the efficiency of water management by introduction of saving technologies, advanced practice and latest scientific achievements in this sphere.
Integrated and thoroughly thought approach is required in management of water resources, modernization of profile infrastructure, construction of new profile facilities and irrigation systems. It is necessary to take into account the requirements of various crops in water depending on the stage of growth and local soil and climate conditions during irrigation of agricultural fields.
Continuing the subject, the head of the state noted that due to its urgency today, the water problems cannot be reviewed without universal long-term development plans. Therefore, Turkmenistan steadily pursue the promotion of water diplomacy on regional and global levels, stands for review and solution and solution of water issues based on recognized universal standards, mutual respect and taking into account the interests and with participation of competent international organizations.
Summing up what was said above, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave certain instructions to relative officials related to further improvement of work for solution of water issues and development of this sphere based on modern science.
The head of the state has also noted again the necessity of scientific approach to cultivation of various agricultural crops including vegetables and crops, having given relative instructions for modernization and increment of production capacities of crop processing sector.
Having highlighted that it is necessary to pay special attention to efficient and rational use of water of the Karakum River together with agricultural specialists and scientists, which is very important for development of the farming, livestock production and fishery, the head of the state gave number of advices on this account.
Having noted the importance of rational water use for successful development of agricultural complex, implementation of its huge potential, provision of ecological wealth, the President of Turkmenistan wished all success in solution of set objectives, went to the helicopter and left the place of event.
