The President of Turkmenistan signed the Decree on rice production in Turkmenistan in 2021. According to the document, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, hyakimliks of Dashoguz and Lebap Velayats are instructed to ensure the production of rice in Saparmurat Turkmenbashi Etrap of the Dashoguz Velayat, in Darganatf, Dyanev, Chardzhev, Farab, Sayat, Halach, Hojambaz, Kerki, Dovletli and Koytendag etraps of Lebap velayat.
It is planned to produce 82,400 tons of rice: 35,000 tons of rice in the Dashoguz velayat and 47,400 tons - in the Lebap velayat.
