Online training seminar dedicated to importance of UNESCO projects have been held for students of the Institute of International Relations and International University of Humanitarian Studies and Development Using video slides, UNESCO representative Andrey Shevelev introduced goals and objectives of this international organization to participants of the meeting. In this context, the expert noted importance of initiatives proposed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov from the high stand of the UN including those related to such global issues of the present as environment protection, rational use of water and energy resources, provision of food security and other. It was highlighted that Turkmenistan demonstrates systematic approach to realization of the Sustainable development goals related to UNESCO, in particular in the sphere of education, natural, social and humanitarian studies, culture, communication and information. More than 1,000 historical and cultural monuments have been found and registered on the territory of Turkmenistan by this moment under the UNESCO Convention on Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage. Work for preparation of new nominations for their review by relative Committees of this organization is carried out together with international experts. Number of measures is planned for enhancement of potential for protection of cultural heritage along the Silk Road, for integration of management of stable tourism, protection of intangible cultural heritage. It was noted that projects related to land use based on protection of ecosystems and bio resources, creation of geoparks, use of information and communication technologies seem to be perspective.
