The results of activities of military and law enforcement agencies in 2016 have been summarized at the expanded meeting of the National Security Council chaired by the President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the country Army General Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov presented the Colours to new army divisions formed for improvement of the structure of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov hold first in 2007 session of the Government where the vice-premiers gave report on their activities and drafts of certain documents were reviewed.

For informational promotion of V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in September of this year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan together with other government organizations developed Action Plan aimed at broad familiarization of the world community with the present of our country, its achievements and successes as well as 2017 Asian Games.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sent sincere condolences to President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the deaths and numerous injuries in a terrorist attack in Istanbul.

On December 29, the head of state took part in the New Year’s event which was organized in the building of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. There, the President of Turkmenistan was welcomed by the Chairperson of th National Parliament, Government members, Leaders of military and law enforcement agencies, khyakims of velayats and Ashgabat city.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov had chaired joint meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and National Security Council. The meeting had been attended also by governors of provinces.

On December 26, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov held a joint pre-New Year session of the Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council with the participation of velayat khaykims.

The Resolution of President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov has approved the Activity Plan on Turkmenistan’s chairmanship in the Energy Charter Conference for 2017. The Plan provides for variety of activities, to be held in Turkmenistan and abroad.
