Following the closing of the 5th Summit of the Heads of Caspian Littoral States and the signing of the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea, the Presidents of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia made statements for the mass media.

The Presidents of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran signed the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea.

The Caspian Basin region is, primarily, a unique archetype of relations between the nations that have been living here, their traditions, cultures and spiritual values that has been shaped over the centuries, said President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the 5th Summit of the Heads of Caspian Littoral States.

Speaking at the 5th Summit of the Heads of Caspian Littoral States, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov identified environmental issues as priority aspect of cooperation in the Caspian.

The Agreement on the Prevention of Incidents in the Caspian Sea that is scheduled for signing, will foster confidence between our nations, said President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the meeting of the heads of five Caspian littoral states in Aktau.

Speaking during the V Summit of the Caspian Littoral States in Aktau, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the meeting was of particular significance for the five states.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived in Aktau, the Republic of Kazakhstan on a working visit to participate in the V Summit of Heads of the Caspian Littoral States.

During his visit to Turkmenbashy International Seaport, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov discuss in details the requirements of different industries in marine transportation with the leaders of relevant structures. The Head of the State noted that objectives of transport policy of Turkmenistan and goals the country sets out for revival of the Silk Road require the increment of capacities of transport complex and the improvement of capabilities of national fleet, especially commercial fleet.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited Turkmenbashy International Seaport and inspected the organization of its work.
