Early in the morning, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov left on official visit for the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Head of the State was seen off by officials in Ashgabat International Airport.

The ceremony of signing bilateral documents was held on the outcomes of the top-level talks.

The Turkmen-Azerbaijani talks in Baku focused on the progress achieved in the trade and economic sphere. Thus, as compared to 2018, the trade turnover for 2019 increased by more than 40 %. Good experience has been accumulated at the governmental and departmental levels. At the same time, it was stated that the level of cooperation had not yet reflected the real potential.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Ilham Aliyev considered cooperation in the sphere of transport during the talks in Baku.

The talks between President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Ilham Aliyev, which were held in one-on-one format, continued with the participation of the official delegations of the both countries.

The official meeting ceremony of greeting the President of Turkmenistan took place at the residence of the President of Azerbaijan - Zagulba. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev greeted President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the square in front of the palace.

Today in the morning, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has arrived in the Republic of Azerbaijan with an official visit.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held video conference session of the Cabinet of Ministers where the key vectors of foreign strategy as well as social and economic development of the country, preparation to coming remarkable dates and other events have been discussed.

“I congratulate you on the International Women's Day! I believe that the celebrations held on occasion of this holiday will put smiles of the faces of our lovely women, will inspire them and fill their hearts with the pride in the Fatherland”, emphasized President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in his congratulatory address.

On behalf of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Vice-premier, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov conveyed congratulations and presented gifts to women – heads of diplomatic missions and representative offices of international organizations accredited in our country on occasion of International Women Day. The event took place in the building of the foreign department of our country on March 7.
