Minister of Industry and Construction Materials of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov had a meeting with Ambassador of Japan Takahiko Katsumata to exchange views on various aspects of the interstate dialogue. The parties expressed satisfaction with the high level of bilateral cooperation based on the principles of friendship, trust and mutual respect. It was emphasized that in recent years, cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres had acquired a new quality and content. In this aspect, the importance of the constructive Turkmen-Japanese dialogue at the highest level and contractual base for multifaceted partnership was emphasized. During the meeting, gratitude was expressed to the Japanese side for the support of the foreign and domestic policy of Turkmenistan, its status of a neutral state. As noted, Turkmenistan and Japan successfully interact within the framework of international organizations, primarily the UN. Inter-parliamentary cooperation has significantly strengthened. In this regard, the productivity of the meetings of the parliamentarians of the two countries was emphasized. Discussing the key aspects of the interstate dialogue, it was underlined the contribution of Japanese companies to the development of key sectors of the national economy of Turkmenistan and implementation of projects on creation of innovative enterprises. The parties expressed satisfaction with the successful promotion of new joint projects. Gas and petrochemistry, transport and communications, agriculture, chemical industry, introduction of advanced technologies were specified among the key areas of cooperation. An interested exchange of views on the prospects for cooperation in the construction sector took place during the meeting. Ambassador Takahiko Katsumata expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for the attention to the development of Turkmen-Japanese relations, including the creation of a favorable investment climate for the effective work of foreign companies. The possibilities of enhancing cooperation in the humanitarian sphere were discussed during the meeting.
