Today, a delegation of Turkmenistan has participated in the 35th meeting of the CIS Council for Cultural Cooperation conducted via videoconferencing.

At a ceremony held today via video link, a project of the Magtymguly Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan has been announced the winner of the U.S. Department of State’s Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) Program competition and the Institute has been awarded the AFCP grant.

On instructions from President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the first meeting of the Turkmenistan National Commission for UNESCO (held on November 2) discussed a draft Joint Action Plan for 2021-2023 and new proposals concerning the inscription of Turkmen traditions on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

First session of Turkmenistan National Commission for activity of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNSECO) has been held at request of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with participation of the Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads and representatives of profile ministries and departments of the country.

Representatives of various departments and institutions of the country held a videoconference meeting with UNESCO experts. The agenda of the meeting was the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions and the possibility of Turkmenistan's accession to it.

Celebration concert in honour of the Independence Day of Turkmenistan was held in Ashgabat Song and Music Centre. Popular singers, masters and young performers, famous folk and dance bands, the State chorus, Altyn Asyr Orchestra, children art collective took part in the performance.

The Ministry of Culture hosted a virtual ceremony of presenting circus equipment to the State Circus of Turkmenistan on behalf of the government of the United States and the American people.
