During extended session of the Cabinet of Ministers, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Resolution approving the plan of reception of the students to the universities of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat and Ahal Velayat in 2018 as well as the plan of reception of students to secondary vocational education institutions in 2018.

As it was informed before, High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development under the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) is planned to be held in New York this month. During joint session of the Government and the State Security Council, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov requested relative officials to provide high organizational level of preparation to the participation of our delegation in coming forum, which would gather 193 the UN member countries and more than 50 international organizations.

Throughout the centuries, Turkmen nation has developed clear principles of family education and traditions of national pedagogic. They were passed from generation to generation.

The adoption of another two Resolutions, which were initiated by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, by the United Nations General Assembly highlighted the growing role of our country in international arena in the assertion of humanistic principles, its creative and peace-making potential.

Unanimous adoption of the Resolution on international efforts for support of Afghanistan during regular session of the Security Council on March 8, 2018 is among the most importance events of the month.

The development of mass physical training and sports of highest achievements in our country has organized character of the state programme with long-term perspective. Healthy life style became national idea and strong consolidating factor as the result of integrated measures. The initiatives proposed by the Head of the State in this direction find unanimous support of Turkmen citizens as well as wide recognition of the world community.

Turkmenistan has been elected to the Bureau of Inland Transport Committee of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe in 2019 – 2020. This news came from the UN Department in Geneva (Switzerland) where regular 80th session of this competent intergovernmental organization was held on February 20 – 23. Turkmen delegations has also taken part in the work of the session.

“Building new roads and railways, seaports and bridges, our motherland revives the Great Silk Route in the third millennium” – President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said in his New Year speech to the Nation.

The trade is important branch of national economy providing large tax income to the budget what supports financial stability of the state. This sector has leading positions in small business both by the number of enterprises and by number of personnel involved in this sphere. The share of trade in the structure of internal gross production made more than 10 percent last year (around 8 percent in 2015).

Far-sighted innovative policy of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov based on the principles of positive neutrality and aimed at the development of wide international cooperation stipulated growing authority of Turkmen state in the world arena.
