At the airport, Leyla Aliyeva was cordially greeted by Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice-President for Medical Affairs of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Aid to Children in Need of Guardianship. In keeping with a fine, long-standing tradition, the guest was presented with bread and salt, as well as flowers.

Along the red carpet, children holding the national flags of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan welcomed the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation with a musical and vocal performance.

Subsequently, a brief conversation took place in the airport’s VIP reception hall between Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice-President for Medical Affairs of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Aid to Children in Need of Guardianship, and Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Welcoming her guest, Oguljahan Atabayeva expressed her delight at seeing her in Ashgabat, voicing her confidence that the events planned during this visit would further bring the two countries and their peoples closer together, in pursuit of the noble goal of fostering the continued, dynamic development of Turkmen-Azerbaijani relations.

Expressing her gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality, Leyla Aliyeva conveyed her appreciation to the National Leader of the Turkmen people and the President of Turkmenistan for the opportunity to visit Ashgabat. She also expressed her confidence that the significant event scheduled to take place in the Turkmen capital would be highly productive.

During her stay in Ashgabat, she will participate in the opening ceremony of the “Mother Nature” exhibition, organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the support of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Aid to Children in Need of Guardianship.

Subsequently, Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice-President for Medical Affairs of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Aid to Children in Need of Guardianship, and Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, departed from the airport.

On the same day, Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, visited the headquarters of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Aid to Children in Need of Guardianship, located in Arkadag city.

Currently, the implementation of the second phase of this major urban development project, initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, is progressing at an accelerated pace. Arkadag city, which seamlessly integrates cutting-edge architectural trends and practices, is striking in its scale. At the same time, the city impresses with the unique aesthetics of its urban environment, which continues to expand with new developments serving a variety of purposes. The specialized entities involved in the implementation of the second phase are coordinating their efforts to ensure the optimal execution of the set objectives. It should be noted that the design of the facilities, as well as the selection of construction materials, adheres to the most up-to-date standards, and this ensures the successful realization of a conceptually progressive project and contributes to the uniqueness of the city’s architectural landscape.

The motorcade arrived at the headquarters of the Charitable Foundation, where Leyla Aliyeva was warmly welcomed by the Foundation’s Vice-President, Oguljahan Atabayeva.

Following this, a joint photograph was taken of the Vice-President for Medical Affairs of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Aid to Children in Need of Guardianship and the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

Subsequently, a bilateral meeting between Oguljahan Atabayeva and Leyla Aliyeva took place at the Foundation’s headquarters.

Expressing her sincere pleasure in welcoming her guest to the headquarters of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Aid to Children in Need of Guardianship, Oguljahan Atabayeva thanked her for visiting the country to attend the opening ceremony of the “Mother Nature” exhibition.

“It is gratifying that an event of such profound substance is being organized in Turkmenistan,” said the Vice-President of the Charitable Foundation, highlighting the particular significance of the work carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

As previously highlighted, this project was first launched in November 2024 during COP-29 at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku. Subsequently, the exhibition was successfully held in several other countries, including Bahrain, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and, most recently, in Spain.

In this regard, Oguljahan Atabayeva expressed her gratitude to Leyla Aliyeva, as well as to colleagues, friends, and like-minded individuals, for their contributions to organizing such a significant exhibition in Turkmenistan.

Pending this topic, the Vice-President of the Charitable Foundation noted the originality of the artworks to be featured – specifically those by Leyla Aliyeva, which are distinguished by their exquisite, intricate craftsmanship. Oguljahan Atabayeva expressed her confidence that the upcoming exhibition would offer a direct opportunity to engage with these pieces.

“Overall, I am convinced that the ‘Mother Nature’ exhibition will foster cultural enrichment through the language of art, while also prompting the question: “What can I do to protect the environment?”’ said Oguljahan Atabayeva.

Touching upon the relationship between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Vice-President of the Charitable Foundation emphasized its high level and progressive momentum, noting that the current year has been particularly historic in this context.

Oguljahan Atabayeva, who serves as the Vice-President for Medical Affairs at the Charitable Foundation, an organization dedicated to the well-being of children, expressed a keen interest in expanding cooperation in areas such as safeguarding the health of the younger generation, promoting inclusive education, and providing social support to families in need.

In this pursuit, the foundation is examining the experiences of neighboring and other nations. All of these efforts are directed toward a single goal – ensuring the well-being of children. At the same time, close cooperation is maintained with the Soong Ching Ling Foundation and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

“We intend to continue our joint work, exchange experience, and expand our fruitful collaboration; we are also open to any constructive proposals,” said Oguljahan Atabayeva, wishing her guest good health, well-being, and great success in her important and responsible endeavors.

Expressing her gratitude for the invitation to visit Ashgabat, as well as for the warm welcome and hospitality, Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, conveyed her sincere appreciation to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the President of Turkmenistan, and the Vice-President of the Charitable Foundation for the opportunities rendered, as well as for their assistance and support in organizing the “Mother Nature” exhibition in the capital of Turkmenistan.

Touching upon the subject of bilateral relations, the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation noted that the current cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, rooted in a shared history, culture, language, and spiritual values, serves as a model of strategic partnership.

The current stage of interstate engagement is characterized by a regular political dialogue at the highest level, which makes it possible to identify specific areas for the consistent and dynamic development of cooperation. As the guest emphasized, the mutual visits between the heads of the two states serve as a clear example of this.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the two parties expressed their confidence in the success of the “Mother Nature” exhibition in Ashgabat and exchanged best wishes.

Following this, Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, visited the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Center. The children undergoing treatment there welcomed the guest with musical and vocal performances.

In the foyer, the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation was invited to sample teas brewed from medicinal plants, varieties described in the scientific-encyclopedic work “Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan”, authored by the Hero-Arkadag. This multi-volume publication, written by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, who holds a doctorate in medical sciences, submits valuable information on the medicinal plants that grow in the country and their therapeutic applications.

Subsequently, Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice-President of the Charitable Foundation, guided Leyla Aliyeva through the Center’s various departments, highlighting the conditions created and the work being carried out.

It was noted that each physician and specialist at the Center is assigned specific responsibilities, which are fulfilled successfully through their well-coordinated efforts. Particular emphasis is placed on the full recovery of the children’s health and their harmonious development.

The Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation inquired about the outcomes of the Center’s medical services. The guest was briefed on the facilities and conditions available to young patients, including those designed for the rehabilitation of the musculoskeletal system, as well as the equipment in the various departments and the positive results achieved.

After speaking with the children, Oguljahan Atabayeva and Leyla Aliyeva inquired about their well-being. Noting that all necessary conditions for recovery and rehabilitation are rendered at the center, and that significant progress in treatment has been achieved thanks to the efforts of the medical staff, the mothers of the young patients expressed their sincere gratitude to the Hero-Arkadag and the Arkadagly Hero Serdar.

It should be emphasized that the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Center offers extensive opportunities for children’s recovery during the post-operative period. The facility includes specialized rooms equipped with the necessary apparatus for addressing the development of the musculoskeletal system.

Upon touring the Center, Leyla Aliyeva highly commended its work in treating and safeguarding the health of children through the use of advanced technologies, noting that Turkmenistan is a land of happy childhoods, where special attention is devoted to the younger generation.

Subsequently, Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice-President for Medical Affairs of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Aid to Children in Need of Guardianship, and Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, visited the Gorogly State Equestrian Circus in Arkadag city, where the Galkynyş National Equestrian Games Group gave its performance.

The acts presented by this troupe, renowned both within the country and abroad, reflected the rich horse-breeding traditions of the Turkmen people and showcased a high level of equestrian mastery.

Thanks to the efforts of the President of Turkmenistan and Hero-Arkadag, the global renown of Ahalteke horses, a national treasure recognized as the gold standard of beauty and grace, continues to grow. Extensive work is also underway to promote the nation’s traditional art of horse breeding and its historic equestrian games.

As is well known, the Galkynyş group was awarded the Grand Prix at the International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo in 2025. In early March of this year, this talented troupe gave a successful performance in Baku, presenting a vibrant program to an Azerbaijani audience for the first time.

True to form, the members of the Galkynyş group captivated the audience with complex acrobatic stunts, showcasing their refined horsemanship and “jigitovka” (trick riding) skills.

The highlight of the performance was a breathtaking sequence featuring the State Flag of Turkmenistan unfurled above the arena. In this way, the performance made a significant contribution to promoting the cultural heritage of our people.

The cultural program continued in the capital at the Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theater, which hosted a concert by the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan.

The ensemble performed a repertoire that included both Turkmen and Azerbaijani melodies, as well as soundtracks from various films and animated features, including those produced by Disney.

The cultural policy of Turkmenistan, implemented under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, is aimed not only at promoting the nation’s heritage and its musical and vocal traditions but also at expanding international cultural and humanitarian dialogue.

In this context, the concert by the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan served as a symbol of the traditionally friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan. The audience was particularly impressed by the folk and classical pieces included in the program. In this regard, the regular organization of such events is of great significance.

By adding a vibrant touch to the cultural life of our country, this remarkable concert became a kind of bridge of friendship between Ashgabat and Baku. Its staging stands as clear evidence of expanding cultural ties and strengthening constructive cooperation between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan – a partnership that is inherently rooted in fruitful collaboration within the humanitarian sphere.
