Today, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working visit to the capital, getting acquainted with the progress of construction of the International Pediatric Centre, which will replenish the infrastructure of the country's healthcare system.
Currently, at the state level, special importance is attached to the construction of modern medical institutions and the reconstruction of existing ones. This is clear evidence of the successful implementation of large-scale reforms in the specialised sphere, initiated by doctor Arkadag, under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan, as well as the fact that strengthening the health of every citizen of the country is one of the priority areas of state policy.
In the southern corner of the capital, in accordance with international standards and modern requirements, a complex of medical institutions equipped with advanced world technologies and equipment has been built. An important place in this series will be occupied by the International Pediatric Centre, in the groundbreaking ceremony of which in March 2023 doctor Arkadag took part.
In the morning, Hero-Arkadag arrived at the construction site of the International Pediatric Center, located in the capital and designed for 160 beds, where construction is in full swing.
Here, Hero-Arkadag, noting the importance of the work being carried out to ensure the smooth movement of vehicles on the roads of the capital, instructed the hakim of Ashgabat to take appropriate measures for the unimpeded movement of specialised ambulances.
The adoption of a new version of the State Program «Saglyk», developed thanks to the efforts of Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, Doctor of Medical and Economic Sciences, Professor, author of fundamental scientific works, physician Arkadag and now consistently implemented under the leadership of the President of the country, allows us to raise the national healthcare system to the level of world standards, improve the quality and expand the range of medical services provided to the population.
Here, doctor Arkadag got acquainted with the architectural features of the buildings of the modern medical institution, the equipment of its departments, the interior and exterior decor of the Centre, as well as the types of building materials used. The projects reflect the improvement of the territories adjacent to the facility, types of fencing. All this should be in harmony with the architectural appearance of the capital.
The General Director of the Directorate of International Medical Centres of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of the country S. Annanyyazova reported on the progress of construction of the buildings of the International Pediatric Centre, the departments that will be located in them, their apparatus with various equipment and the finishing materials used.
As noted, the best traditions of national architecture and advanced world practice are organically combined during the construction of the Medical Centre. The Centre's departments will be equipped with the most modern medical equipment from leading global manufacturers. It should be noted that a number of medical devices will be installed here for the first time not only in the country, but also in the region. At the same time, the use of artificial intelligence capabilities in the new Centre will ensure a high level of medical services. At the same time, due attention is paid to the development of the professionalism of doctors.
Doctor Arkadag, having familiarised himself with the projects, types and unique characteristics of the equipment that is planned to be installed in the International Pediatric Centre, as well as with samples of the interior and exterior decoration of the buildings, gave valuable recommendations on the features of the equipment. In continuation, Doctor Arkadag said that the new Centre is an advanced medical institution with a long-term perspective, and emphasised the importance of proper qualification of doctors who will work with the equipment installed for the first time in the region.
In recent years, the state has attached great importance to strengthening the material and technical base of the healthcare system, including medical institutions, training high-level specialists and strengthening preventive measures aimed at maintaining human health. For these purposes, an integrated approach is being taken to the strength of building materials and their compliance with modern requirements, to the features of the decor of buildings.
The main tasks at present are to strengthen the principles of a healthy lifestyle in society, develop mass physical culture and sports, and widely involve the population, especially young people, in this movement. This is important for strengthening human health and ensuring the harmonious development of the younger generation. Speaking about this, doctor Arkadag emphasised the consistent continuation of the work being carried out.
As noted, the International Pediatric Centre will pay special attention to the level of training of doctors who will work in such areas as neurology, endocrinology, orthopedics, allergology, and childhood diseases. Endoscopy, functional and radiation diagnostics, microbiology and bacteriology, psychiatry, audiology, endocrinology, hematology, pathohistology laboratories, and operating rooms will be equipped with the latest technology.
The equipment for the laboratory departments of the new Centre is characterised by rapid diagnostics - within an hour - of any diseases in children and the issuance of the necessary results.
Doctor Arkadag noted that great importance should be attached to color harmony in the Centre's premises. Considering that this medical institution is intended for children, Hero-Arkadag emphasised the colour scheme, which, along with the decorative features of the building, should attract the attention of children and make a pleasant impression on them. Arkadag emphasised the need for active use of modern practices in this area and gave valuable recommendations and instructions based on his many years of experience.
Then Hero-Arkadag held a working meeting here with the participation of the General Director of the Directorate of International Medical Centres of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, the Director of the Intensive Care Department of the International Cardiology Centre, the Deputy Regional Director of the company «Gap inşaat Yatirim ve Diş Ticaret Anonim Şirketi», which has been operating in the country for several years, and the hakim of Ashgabat. Issues related to the completion of the construction of the Centre at the proper level and its equipment in accordance with modern requirements, as well as the improvement of the adjacent territory were discussed.
During the working meeting, detailed reports were made on the pace of construction of the International Pediatric Centre, the types of building materials used, as well as the supply of specialised facilities. It was also reported that the doctors who will work in the new Centre have gained experience in the world's leading clinics, and their professional level in their fields has increased.
Hero-Arkadag focused on the issues of training specialists capable of working on the latest equipment and managing it. As Hero-Arkadag noted, comprehensive measures are being implemented on the basis of the State Program «Saglyk» to strengthen children's health and develop a healthy lifestyle.
It was also reported on the materials used in construction, the features of the interior and exterior decoration of the building, the location of the Centre's parking lots, and the types of modern medical equipment installed in the departments. As noted, digital technologies and artificial intelligence capabilities will be effectively used here, which will ensure a high level of medical services and reduce the time for diagnosis and treatment.
Doctor Arkadag noted that great importance is attached to the construction of healthcare facilities in the country, including in the capital. This is clear evidence of the successful implementation of the new edition of the State Program «Saglyk» through the efforts of the President of Turkmenistan and its positive results in protecting the health of people, including the younger generation, and preventing diseases.

In continuation, doctor Arkadag emphasised the need to establish economic activities of medical centres being built in a picturesque corner of the capital, with the city administration. At the same time, the construction of the new Centre and its economic structure should be under constant control.
Then, the hakim of Ashgabat R. Gandymov reported on the progress of work at the site where a complex of modern healthcare institutions was formed, on measures to improve the territories and large-scale activities to maintain environmental well-being in the capital.
After hearing the report, Hero-Arkadag said that this beautiful corner of Ashgabat has become an independent town. The roads and gardens of this health town create a special atmosphere. It was emphasised that unimpeded access to the medical centre should be provided on the roads.
Timely and high-quality implementation of the project for the construction of the International Pediatric Centre will improve the level and quality of treatment for children. This indicates that caring for the younger generation is one of the important areas of state policy.
As Hero-Arkadag noted, the activities carried out in this area are based on caring for the harmonious development, education of a devoted and hardworking younger generation - our future, and he drew attention to the need to make every effort to work effectively in this direction.
