To the cheerful New Year's songs, colourful round dances and dancing compositions of young Turkmen nationals, the main New Year tree of the country was lighted up today with multi-coloured lights to announce arrival of the New year, a long awaited, favourite holiday full of unexpected discoveries.

Every year, a magical show – a lighting ceremony on the highest and elegant green beautiful fir-tree is held on the square before the Älem Cultural and Entertainment Centre where grand festivities are organized by a noble tradition.

The height of the Main fir-tree topped with an eight-pointed star and the figure of 2025, dressed in a sparkling attire from numerous crystal snowflakes, multi-coloured garlands, makes up 44 metres and its width - 16 metres.

Round it, thousands of young Ashgabat residents and guests of the capital, folklore and dance groups, circus performers and actors of theatres in carnival costumes, and fairy tale characters gathered in joyful expectation of a magical show. 

Avaz baba and Garpamyk accompanied by favourite characters Akpamyk and cheerful Japbaks hasten to join them. Their way starts from the sculptural composition of Akhal-Teke racing horse Polatly located the crossroad of avenues of Arkadag city at the foothills of the Kopet Dagh.

The New Year's procession heads towards the monument «Akhan» on the square where the Main fir-tree of Arkadag city is established. Creative gifts were prepared for guests by actors of the State Drama Theatre named after Aman Gulmammedov and State Horse Circus named Gorogly as well as schoolchildren of the specialized school of art named after Sahy Jepbarov, children's school of art named after Shukur bagshy.

Having familiarised with new buildings where at each object the festive motorcade was welcomed and seen off with wishes of good and happiness on its way, Ayaz baba continued his way with his friends to the capital – Ashgabat city.

… At the fir-tree established on the square before the State Circus of Turkmenistan a friendly company was welcomed joyfully by children and the favourite hero - clever Ahmet. Creative groups pleased dear guests with their theatrical performances and children with their round dances and cheerful poems and songs round the green fir-tree.

Then, Ayaz baba with his companions headed towards the alley «Ylham» where they were met by the fairy-tale character Mammetjan. There fun was unfolded, joyful melodies and jokes sounded and small dancers amazed spectators with their fancy-dress shows. 

One should note, the alley «Ylham» that in translation from Turkmen means "inspiration", - one of the favourite vacation spots of residents of the capital. It is difficult to find the right word, more conformable to the high creative spirit of the present epoch.

Annually young Ashgabat residents, accompanying Ayaz baba and his granddaughter Garpamyk to the central New Year tree, acquaint their long-awaited guests with changes, which have occurred for the past year in the shape of the rapidly developing central city of our fatherland.

There today participants of the fantastic travel visited the new shopping centre "Arkaç" where naughty Yartygulak met them. They became spectators of demonstration performances of the Turkmen State Puppet Show of the country and music and song numbers.

… Then Ayaz baba and his granddaughter Garpamyk changed the cabriolet to a snow-white phaeton and accompanied by Ashyr dade and young residents of the Turkmen capital who took a well-decorated double decker bus, continued their excursion across the festively decorated pre-New Year Ashgabat.

Participants of the show passed by residential "skyscrapers", admired the architectural shape of new objects of the Turkmen capital which have become a clear acknowledgment of huge attention to and indefatigable care of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of development of the central city of our fatherland and comfortable life of Turkmen nationals.

At last, the caravan arrived in the Älem Cultural and Entertainment Centre where the Main New Year tree is established. There one could feel the approach of the New Year steeped in performances of magic experience. 

At the entrance to the wonderful land, guests are welcomed by figures of characters of Turkmen fairy tales, favourite cartoon films of children with multi-coloured lights.

Compositions round trees and bushes were also made by the decor of light designs, multi-coloured lamps that create in the evening an effect of soaring in the air of the entire New Year ensemble.

And there already the bright carnival filled the square before the Main fir-tree of the country. The first cheerful verses were devoted to the lord of winter by symbolical characters of the outgoing year 2024 and upcoming year 2025.

Round the evergreen queen of the fete in the magic and fairy atmosphere enchanting action with participation of theatrical groups of the capital, small actors, as well as popular variety performers was developed.

On behalf of young Turkmen nationals and participants of the Pre-new year celebration, Ayaz baba and Garpamyk convey to President Arkadagly Hero Serdar and National Leader of the Turkmen people Hero-Arkadag and all people of Turkmenistan their warm congratulations with the upcoming new year 2025, wish good luck and health, successes in further realisation of grandiose undertakings for well-being and prosperity of our fatherland. They thank the head of the state for his indefatigable care of the growing generation and creation of conditions for its all-around development.

Happy children - the best indicator of well-being of the country in the Era of Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state. For them in all corners of our fatherland new fine modern schools, preschool centres, athletic fields and stadiums, centres of cultural and informative leisure in which all necessary things are provided to  disclose young creative talents, were constructed and continue to be constructed.

The culmination of the cheerful festival was marked with illumination of the beautiful fir-tree at the request of children by the magic wand of Ayaz baba.

With wonderful lights during this moment all New Year trees established on main squares of cities in velayats of our country where today colourful performances, verses and songs also sound, happy children participate in the round dance, were also illuminated.

The best award for young Turkmen nationals became tasty gifts and surprises on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The first celebration at the Main fir-tree in the capital was over with a big concert with participation of the children's chorus, popular variety singers who sung cheerful songs, devoted to the welcoming of the New Year.
