Today, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who arrived in our country on a state visit, took part in the opening of a monument to the famous Kazakh poet Abay Kunanbayuly.
The construction of a monument to the famous Kazakh poet, embodying a unique composition on Astana Street in Ashgabat, has become another expression of a new level of cultural and spiritual relations between the two peoples, based on common cultural, spiritual values and traditions.
Holding this event in the year of the international celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great poet and philosopher of the East Magtymguly Fragi has acquired a special meaning.
As is known, in July of this year, during the working visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Kazakhstan, the opening ceremony of the monument to Magtymguly Fragi took place in Astana. The installation of the statue of the great sage of the East in the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the poet and philosopher Makhtumkuli Fragi in the year of the «Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi» became a vivid testimony of the unwavering friendship and brotherhood of the two peoples.
