Turkmen athletes won 34 medals at the international open championship in the non-Olympic version of ITF taekwondo held in Kuala Lumpur.

The competition brought together approximately 1,500 taekwondo athletes from 11 countries, who competed in formal exercises and bouts. And the success of our athletes, who won 19 gold, 9 silver and 6 bronze medals, is even more gratifying.

The achievements of Turkmen taekwondo athletes at the tournament in Malaysia are the result of the successful implementation of state policy aimed at creating enormous opportunities for training professional athletes. Upon returning to their homeland, the medalists expressed sincere gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Hero-Arkadag, for their great attention to the development of sports and the creation of excellent conditions for preparing athletes for international competitions.
