Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov left for a state visit to Mongolia. At the International Airport of the capital, the head of Turkmenistan was seen off by officials.
Consistently implementing a foreign policy course based on the principles of positive neutrality, peacefulness and good neighbourliness, our Fatherland is developing friendly relations and mutually beneficial partnerships with countries located in different regions of the planet. One of the clear examples of the successful implementation of this creative strategy is the established fruitful dialogue with the states of the Asian region. Among them is Mongolia, cooperation with which has recently received a qualitatively new impetus.
An important step in this direction was the state visit of the President of Mongolia to Turkmenistan, which took place in October last year. The focus of the parties on increasing interstate cooperation and filling it with new specific content is evidenced by the agreements reached following the Ashgabat high-level talks and the signed package of documents. As is known, during his stay in Ashgabat, the President of Mongolia also met with the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Hero Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Together with other high-ranking foreign guests, the head of the friendly state took part in the International Forum «Interconnection of Times and Civilisations – the Basis of Peace and Development» held in the capital, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet and philosopher of the East Magtymguly Fragi.
In this way, the current state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Mongolia is intended to write a new important chapter in the history of bilateral relations.
…Having flown to Ulaanbaatar, the presidential airliner landed at the «Buyant-Ukhaa» International Airport, where the national flags of the two countries were raised on flagpoles and the Guard of Honour was lined up. Here, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov was met by officials. According to the established good tradition of hospitality, the distinguished guest was presented with the national Mongolian dish gurt and flowers.
From the airport, the head of Turkmenistan left for the residence allocated for the visit.
On the second day of the visit, 2nd of June, Turkmen-Mongolian high-level talks will be held in Ulaanbaatar, the agenda of which will include a wide range of issues of interstate cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats.
In this context, it should be noted that, developing a constructive political dialogue, Turkmenistan and Mongolia effectively interact within the framework of international organizations, including the UN. Demonstrating the proximity or coincidence of approaches to topical aspects of regional and global issues, our countries provide each other with mutual support.
Bilateral ties are also developing between governments, foreign policy agencies and parliaments.
As for trade and economic cooperation, today there are all the prerequisites for its diversification and expansion, an increase in trade turnover, and the intensification of mutually beneficial contacts between business structures. The Turkmen-Mongolian Business Forum scheduled to be held in Ulaanbaatar is also intended to facilitate this.
At the same time, great importance is attached to stimulating traditional humanitarian dialogue, encouraging interaction in the scientific, educational and cultural spheres, as well as in the field of sports.
As expected, following the results of the Turkmen-Mongolian negotiations at the highest levels, a large package of documents will be signed, which, having strengthened the legal framework of interstate relations, are intended to facilitate the practical implementation of the solid potential of the partnership, giving it a long-term nature, taking into account modern realities and prospects.
Thus, the current state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Mongolia and the events planned within its framework will contribute to bringing bilateral cooperation to a qualitatively new level, which fully meets the interests of the well-being of the two friendly countries and peoples.
