On May 30, 2025, during his working visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Warmly welcoming the President of Turkmenistan, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the Republic of Kazakhstan attaches special importance to strengthening the ties of friendship and brotherhood, expanding multi-vector cooperation with Turkmenistan.

Thanking for the invitation to participate in the First “Central Asia - Italy” Summit and for the hospitality, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the Summit and the decisions taken within its framework would promote further interaction between the countries of the region and Italy.

The head of Turkmenistan conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty to the Kazakh leader Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and thanked him for the hospitality extended to Hero-Arkadag during his recent visit to Turkestan city.

Having thanked President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for accepting the invitation to participate in the Summit, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted with satisfaction the high level of bilateral strategic cooperation. The President of Kazakhstan said that the friendly visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people to Kazakhstan in April of this year contributed to bringing interstate relations to a new level and conveyed his best wishes to Hero-Arkadag.

The sides noted that there is mutual understanding between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan on pertinent issues of regional and global agenda, in particular on such issues as maintaining and strengthening global peace and stability, ensuring sustainable energy and transport, using water resources, protecting the environment and climate change.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the invitation to take part in the International Peace and Trust Forum dedicated to 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality, to be held on December 12 this year on the occasion of the UN General Assembly declaring 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust”.

The head of Turkmenistan also invited President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Turkmenistan to participate in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, which will be held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.

It was noted that mutual support of two countries within the framework of major international organizations, primarily the United Nations, has become a good tradition. In this context, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked the Kazakh side for the assistance in promoting Turkmenistan’s international initiatives. On its part, Turkmenistan supports Kazakhstan’s proposals put forward in the international arena.

Ttrade, energy, transport and communications were named among the priority areas of cooperation.

Noting the positive dynamics in mutual trade, the interlocutors noted the presence of great potential for the development of ties in the field of trade.

An important component of the interstate dialogue is cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian vector. As was emphasized, the organization of festivals and mutual days of culture in both countries, regular contacts between the creative and academic circles contribute to the enrichment of cultures.

In conclusion, expressing confidence that the current meeting will further enhance the fruitful partnership, Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed their best wishes to each other and the fraternal peoples of two countries.
