Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Sardor Umurzakov, head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Welcoming the head of state, the guest conveyed the President of Turkmenistan cordial greetings, best wishes and congratulations on the occasion of the International Day of Neutrality from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as the words of the Uzbek leader that he warmly recalls his recent visit to Ashgabat. Congratulating President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on this significant date, the head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan underlined that his country attaches great importance to the further strengthening of good-neighborly relations with Turkmenistan, which are based on the centuries-old historical, cultural and spiritual community of the two fraternal peoples.
Thanking for the congratulations, the head of state noted that this year Turkmenistan celebrates the 27th anniversary of gaining its neutral status delegated by the United Nations and twice enshrined in the relevant Resolutions of the UN General Assembly. Having conveyed greetings and good wishes to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov reaffirmed our country’s commitment to a traditionally friendly, trusting dialogue with fraternal Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the head of Turkmenistan and his guest emphasized that in recent years mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation has reached a qualitatively new stage. This is fully facilitated by the mutual understanding and openness inherent in interstate relations, which allows us to consistently develop productive partnership in a wide range of areas.
It was also stated that Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan have similar or similar positions on topical issues of the regional and global agenda, which primarily concerns ensuring universal peace and security, achieving Sustainable Development Goals. This is an important factor in constructive interaction and coordination of efforts in the international arena.
At the same time, it was noted that inter-parliamentary ties have noticeably intensified recently, which is of great importance in filling the interstate dialogue with new concrete content. Mutually beneficial cooperation and exchange of experience through legislative bodies are also destined to strengthen the legal framework of Turkmen-Uzbek relations.
The priority direction of the bilateral partnership is the trade and economic sphere. In this context, the need to maintain the positive dynamics of trade turnover and the optimal practical implementation of the agreements reached during mutual visits and negotiations at the highest level was noted.
At the same time, it was emphasized the importance of developing new promising areas of cooperation. Our countries have a solid potential for further increasing the volume of mutual trade, investment, and the implementation of joint projects in industries such as industry, transport, energy, and agriculture.
An integral component of bilateral relations is also the cultural and humanitarian sphere, where close fruitful ties have been established.
At the end of the meeting, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov expressed confidence that strategic interstate cooperation, sealed by unbreakable ties of friendship and good-neighborliness, will continue to develop successfully for the common good.
