Topical issues of further development of the established constructive interstate dialogue were discussed during a telephone talk held today between Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The Hero-Arkadag first of all wished the leader of the friendly country a successful meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States in the city of Samarkand, which has an ancient history, expressing confidence that the Summit under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan will be productive, and its results will be a significant contribution to the further deepening of interaction and multifaceted cooperation between the Turkic-speaking countries.
Touching upon the topic of bilateral relations, Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening comprehensive ties with Uzbekistan based on strong ties of friendship and good neighborliness that have passed the test of time.
“The high level of mutual trust and openness inherent in our interstate dialogue is a significant factor in the development of mutually beneficial partnership. This allows us to conduct an effective and consistent dialogue on a wide range of areas,” said Hero-Arkadag.
During the conversation, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that he remembers with special warmth the recent official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan, which became a landmark event in the annals of Turkmen-Uzbek relations.
Along with this, inter-parliamentary ties, which, according to the parties, complement these multifaceted relations, are also being further developed.
“I am firmly convinced that interstate cooperation based on centuries-old ties of friendship and good-neighborliness will continue to develop and strengthen through joint efforts for the benefit of our fraternal peoples,” said the Hero-Arkadag, assuring the Uzbek leader of Turkmenistan’s readiness for further close cooperation with Uzbekistan in all directions.
At the end of the telephone conversation, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sound health, long life and great success in all his affairs and endeavors.
