Today the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that the peoples of our countries are united by historically established ties, cultural and spiritual community, which in the modern epoch are a reliable basis for mutually beneficial bilateral partnership of a strategic nature.

Developing effective trade and economic cooperation, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan also attach great importance to deepening fruitful humanitarian and cultural contacts, including through various joint events.

It was also noted that inter-parliamentary contacts are an important component of interstate relations, demonstrating positive dynamics in the development of relations.  In this context, the interlocutors spoke in favor of further expanding the fruitful dialogue established in this direction, which is useful for countries to exchange experience in the legislative sphere, where there is already considerable good experience in joint activities.

At the end of the conversation, it was emphasized that the established close inter-parliamentary contacts contribute to enriching the multifaceted partnership between the two fraternal countries, and also make a significant contribution to strengthening peace and stability in the Central Asian region.
