Today, the telephone conversation has taken place between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

The head of the friendly country sincerely congratulated President Serdar Berdimuhamedov with his birthday, wishing him sound health, long life and further success in his multifaceted state activity. As was pointed out, the Russian Federation highly appreciates the efforts of the President of Turkmenistan aimed at the strengthening of traditional cooperation between the two countries.

Having expressed his gratitude for congratulations and good wishes as well as constant attention to the development of good neighbourhood relations between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, the head of the state with satisfaction stated traditionally friendly relations between our countries based on principles of strategic partnership, trust and mutual understanding,  today successfully develop in a wide range of areas.

In this regard, the Turkmen leader pointed out fruitfulness of the recent meeting with the President of Russia on the margins of the Samarkand SCO Summit, which enabled to discuss topical issues of interactions and to exchange views of perspectives of further partnership.

During the conversation, it was underlined that Turkmenistan attaches special attention to the strengthening of the constructive dialogue with the Russian Federation as one of the priority areas of its foreign policy course. The fruitfulness of bilateral contacts at the high state and governmental levels as well as ever-growing relations with Russian regions were stated.

As was marked, successful development of direct relations established with such large subjects of the Russian Federation with Turkmenistan as the Republic of Tatarstan, Astrakhan and Sverdlovsk oblasts, Saint Petersburg city and other regions and their close cooperation in different areas can serve a good example for it.

Heads of the states were unanimous in their views that expansion of trade and economic relations takes special place on the agenda of multifaceted Turkmen–Russian partnership and the efficient work of the joint intergovernmental commission facilitates it to a significant extent. 

Having confirmed readiness for further all-round multidimensional cooperation, the sides expressed confidence in its successful development for the benefit of peoples of the two friendly countries.

At the end of the telephone conversation, Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Vladimir Putin exchanged best wishes to each other and peoples of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation.
