Today, in accordance with the approved schedule, farmers of the Dashoguz velayat have started sowing cotton, where, due to climatic conditions, the sowing campaign starts a little later than in other regions of the country.

According to a good tradition, the beginning of the sowing season was blessed by the venerable elders. Having raised a prayer to the Almighty for the well-being and prosperity of the Motherland, the Turkmen people, the head of state, they threw the first cotton seeds into the ground, and then gave way to machine operators.

This year, in the northern region of the country, the cotton wedge is 140,000 hectares, from which it is planned to collect 275,000 tons of "white gold". The farmers of the velayat prefer such medium-staple varieties of cotton as "Daşoguz-120", "Daşoguz-114", "Gubadag-3", "Jeýhun", "S4727", "F-149", "Ýolöten-39" and others.

In accordance with the requirements of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in the matter of comprehensive and organized preparation for a responsible campaign - cotton sowing, an important role is given to the coordinated work on the fields of modern agricultural equipment - tractors of various brands, seeders, cultivators, its use at full capacity, as well as providing cotton growers with sufficient the number of seeds.

In the velayat, there is an extensive technical park for preparing land for sowing and caring for cotton, including 2,552 high-performance tractors, many of which were purchased from the world leaders in agricultural engineering - John Deere and CLAAS companies. Uninterrupted sowing will be ensured by 454 seeders, including eight sectional seeders from the Monosem company, and other units.

In addition, mechanized teams have been created, mobile workshops equipped with welding machines and vehicles for transporting fuel have been organized. In general, all this will make it possible to observe a clear rhythm of agricultural work, laying a reliable foundation for the future harvest.

Before the start of the spring campaign, a meeting was held in the Dashoguz velayat, which was attended by the heads and leading specialists of the etrap khyakimliks, experienced agronomists, machine operators, tenants-cotton growers.

The participants discussed organizational issues related to the sowing campaign at the optimal time, the qualitative implementation of relevant agrotechnical measures, the cultivation of a generous harvest of "white gold" and other crops.

The center of celebrations on the occasion of the start of sowing was the daikhan association "Akgala" of the Kunyaurgench etrap, where an exhibition of agricultural machinery and products of the agro-industrial complex of the northern region of the country was launched. Thematic events were held at the Turkmen Agricultural Institute in the city of Dashoguz and in other places of the velayat.

The performances of musical and folklore-choreographic groups of the velayat glorified the Fatherland, native people, the achievements of the country, and were also dedicated to the motto of 2022 “The era of the people with Arkadag”.
