During the session of the Government, the head of the state has informed that he finished working on his new book, which was named “Ak şäherim Aşgabat” (“White city Ashgabat”).

The capital of independent neutral Turkmenistan is a heart of our Motherland. This is a center embodying international authority of our state and its place in the world community. Ashgabat is one of economically developed and beautiful cities of the world with high level of culture. Its image matches the variety of natural landscapes and combines the trends of various epoch, the President said.

We respect its glorious 140^th anniversary, information of which has remained in written sources. However, undoubtedly, the life existed on the earth well before that, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov continued. Thus, ancient Parthian stronghold was located in the outskirts of Ashgabat, which can be used to study the history of this great state.

Ashgabat is also called as a city of lovers. This concept is based on many wonderful historical events, which characterize the population of the city as friendly, hospitable and open-hearted people. There is no doubt that today, the residents of the capital remain to be good, hospitable and always ready to help anyone who needs it, the head of the state said.

We have put many efforts and invested significant resources for construction of various facilities reflecting national colors and historical and cultural values in the capital. Therefore, Ashgabat is a visual embodiment of sincere love of its residents. Many facilities of the main city of the country with their unique features have been included to the Guinness Record Book, the president noted.

For 140 years of its existence, Ashgabat has experienced many ordeals, in which the residents of the city actively participated. Our people have always demonstrated solidarity both in good and hard times.

Difficulties of 1941- 1945 Great Patriotic War have also touched Ashgabat’s citizens. Catastrophic earthquake in 1948 has flattened the city. There was not a single family which have not suffered from this horrible natural disaster. But we have managed to restore and build our beloved city, the President of Turkmenistan highlighted.

Today, our wonderful capital has become a center of development of sports, culture, science and education. Ashgabat continues to be built rapidly, its architectural image changes beyond recognition in front of our eyes.

Many things are done for organization of cultural activity of the citizens. Ashgabat is an excellent example of modern city. The facilities built in the city are constructed based on the concept of ‘smart city’. New complex Ashgabat-city is built in the northern part of the capital. The Nisa fortress, which is included to the UNESCO World Heritage List, is located in the west.

The fact that this competent international structure has included Turkmen capital to the network of dynamically developing cities indicates new level of development of Ashgabat. Therefore, the most advanced ideas are implemented in the city, the head of the state noted.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that he has tried to reflect all of these in his new book. The head of the state has also expressed hope that this work would be interested and useful, having become a present for fellow countrymen to the 140^th anniversary of Ashgabat. In this regard, Turkmen leader said that the participants of the session would receive this book after the session.

The President of Turkmenistan requested Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Sh. Durdiliyev, Vice-premier, Foreign Minister R. Meredov, Vice-premier M. Mammedova and Vice-premier, Secretary of the State Security Council Ch. Amanov to make presentation of book “White city Ashgabat” in the days remained until the celebration of remarkable date.
