Specialists from relevant ministries and industry departments took part in an online seminar with representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on expanding cooperation in the field of aviation and tourism. The meeting was organized within the framework of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Programme.
Our country joined the Asian Development Bank in 2000 and during this period we have accumulated experience of successful joint work, including within the framework of CAREC, in such priority sectors as energy, transport, trade facilitation, customs issues, tourism, formation of economic corridors, human development. Based on the aforementioned Programme, ADB takes an active part in financing investment projects in Turkmenistan.
During the webinar, the main focus was on the key vectors of the CAREC 2030: Connecting the Region for Shared and Sustainable Development, as well as on issues of further strengthening multilateral cooperation. As noted, the long-term objectives identified by the ADB for implementation in this strategic document are consistent with national plans and the Sustainable Development Goals.
