Annual plan for production of rice was fulfilled by the farmers of the northern region of the country. They have produced more than 35,000 tons of rice from 8,100 hectares, which exceeds the expectations. High organizational level of harvest campaign, which involved big number of specialized equipment including around two hundred of John Deere and Claas harvesters, has contributed to the success. Farmers from Dashoguz have rich experience of cultivation of the crop. Complex of measures of the government support as well as optimum combination of traditions of cultivation and agricultural innovations are the main factors of steadfast development of this sphere. Farms of S. Turkmenbashy etrap, which have full cycle of rice production, are specialized in production of this crop. It also has arranged the production of high-quality seeding material. New yield, which mainly consists of Nukus 2, Munbashy and Alenga varieties distinguished by good taste, has been delivered to big modern rice processing facility of the etrap, which is able to deliver up to 30,000 tons of high-quality rice per year.
