Addressing the students from Turkmenistan, who study in the higher educational institutions in Japan, the President of Turkmenistan focused on the agenda of the meeting with Japanese businessmen scheduled for October 23. “We are going to discuss a wide spectrum of issues of cooperation, including in the transport and transit sphere. As you know, on Turkmenistan’s initiative, the UN General Assembly adopted two resolutions aimed at enhancing international cooperation in transport sphere”, said the President of Turkmenistan. According to the Turkmen leader, transport corridors from the Pacific Ocean to Europe, from the north of Russia to the Persian Gulf run along the territory of our country. “Through our country, Afghanistan gets access to the international transport network, which is important in the context of stabilizing the economic situation in the friendly state and increasing its foreign trade turnover”, emphasized the President of Turkmenistan. “High-quality modern roads are required to develop trade and export goods. This is beneficial to everyone: production countries, transit countries, as well as the purchasing countries”, the President of Turkmenistan summarized. The head of state emphasized that Turkmenistan with the participation of foreign companies, including leading Japanese players in the innovation market, built powerful industries that produce environmentally friendly petroleum and gas chemical products, which are of great demand on the market. Among the strategic export-oriented sectors of the Turkmen economy, the President of Turkmenistan specified cotton production, emphasizing that our country increased the production of high-quality raw materials that are of great demand on the world market.
