Russian weightlifter Tatyana Kashirina is absolute champion and world record holder

Women competed for the medals in the weight category above 87 kg on the final day of the World Weightlifting Championship. Stubborn contest was between Tatyana Kashirina (Russian Federation) and Suping Meng (People’s Republic of China). In the snatch, Chinese weightlifter lifted 143 kg in the third attempt. Russian sportswoman had to set the world record to take over the opponent, what she exactly did, having lifted 145 kg in the second attempt. Kuk Hyang Kim from the DPRK was the third in this discipline. In the clean-and-jerk, Kashirina lifted 178 in the first attempt and set the world record. She improved the result in the second attempt by 4 kg. Suping Meng set new world record of 184 kg in the second attempt. However, the luck was on Tatyana Kashirina side who lifted the weight of 185 kg in the third final attempt. She lifted 330 kg in total and beca,e absolute champion and the world record holder. Suping Meng from China won three silver medals of Ashgabat tournament. Duangaksorn Chaidee from Thailand won the bronze in the clean-and-jerk and in total.
