Altyn Asyr (Ashgabat) has secured a 3:2 win versus India’s Bengaluru in the AFC Cup Inter-Zone Semifinal 1st leg. The match was played on the home field of India’s champion that according to experts, had looked like the firm home favorite to win. However, the Turkmen football players, who had strong determination to succeed, opened the score in the 11th minute. Vahit Orazsahedov was the scorer of the opening goal. Turkmenistan’s champion kept on playing vigorously and soon the second goal came from Altymyrad Annadurdyev. The Turkmen team led 2:0 at half-time. In the second half the visiting team continued to launch a series of threatening attacks and in the 46th minutes the third goal was shot through Vahit Orazsahedov’s efforts. Having apparently decided that the handsome victory was in their pocket, the Turkmen football players, trained by Honored Coach of Turkmenistan Yazkuli Hojageldiev, slowed down their tempo, and the home team immediately took advantage of the situation. Rahul Bheke shot a 63-minute goal, and the second goal came from Erik Paartalu in the closing minutes of the game. Bengaluru merely had no time to gather strength for another goal. The return game is due to take place at the Kopetdag Stadium on August 29.
