A solemn ceremony took place in Ashgabat to lay a foundation of new building to be commissioned in Turkmenistan in the framework of the program that was launched in January of this year for construction of free of charge housing for the population in need of social support.

A congratulatory address delivered by the head of state says that showing deep reverence towards mothers and due respect to women is a centuries-old national tradition of the people of Turkmenistan, handed down from generation to generation. Folk epic poems (destan), wise proverbs and sayings, lullabies, beautiful wedding songs, national jewelry testify to respect for working women, who are devoted to their native country, their people and the sacred family hearth.

In the conference hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, devoted to the celebration of the International Women's Day, there was a ceremony of honoring mothers of many children. By the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, the honorary title ""Ene Myahri"" this year was awarded to more than two hundred and eighty of our compatriots.

A wonderful concert has been held today at the Mukam Palace of the State Cultural Center in honor of our countrywomen. Among those in attendance were labor veterans, foremost workers, activists of public organizations, mothers of large families, awarded the honorary title of “Ene Myahri”, winners of the “Woman of the Year” Contest, and other artistic competitions.

In Ashgabat, celebratory events were held on the occasion of the International Women’s Day with the participation of the leaders of the Mejlis, ministries and sectoral departments, and public organizations. In their framework, the ceremonies were organized to honor mothers who gave birth and brought up eight or more children, were awarded the honorary title “Ene Myahri” according to the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, as well as to hand the keys to new comfortable flats to large families.

The illustrated edition “Turkmenistan Constructs Bridges to the Future – Bridges of Friendship and Progress” was published before the opening of Turkmenabat-Farab road and rail bridges, built across the Amudarya in Lebap velayat, where it is developing a major industrial center with extensive transport network.

The international seminar «The Caspian sea - a sustainable development and management», organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and state agency for Caspian issues at the President of Turkmenistan together with the International Oceans Institute started its work in the national tourist zone ""Avaza"". Specialists of departments of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Russia and Turkmenistan, and international experts take part in the action.

Active implementation of the National Program of Rural Development targeted at ensuring high living standards even in the most remote regions of the country continues in Turkmenistan.

To turn the country into a blooming garden; to create forests; and ensure proper care of the planted saplings, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution ordering to hold the nationwide tree-planting campaign on 18 March 2017.

In the capital's Palace ""Mekan"" was held an event dedicated to the theme of healthy lifestyle. The propaganda action was attended by representatives of ministries and departments, public organizations and mass media, student youth.
