World Health Day is an international holiday, which incorporates the universal principles of peace, goodwill and humanism, calls for global consensus, and embodies the Turkmen nation’s commitment to lasting friendship and fraternity, the congratulatory address says. It is particularly remarkable that the Year of Health and Inspiration, when we are making steady progress towards the big sporting event – the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, is marked by a “Health and Happiness” Month, a month-long series of mass sports activities and socio-cultural events. Along with that a sports complex, “Avaza”, is to be put into operation in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone, – the head of state said. The fact that the International Congress and Exhibition “The 2017 Asian Games: International Cooperation in Sport for Peace and Progress” are timed to coincide with World Health Day dramatically illustrates the global significance of Turkmenistan’s progress and achievements in this field. Our country, which is making a steady advance in the political, economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres, launches initiatives that are in line with the Olympic ideals and principles, – the nation’s leader stressed. As the President of Turkmenistan has noted, considerable funds are allocated for the development of mass sport and the Olympic movement, national programs and comprehensive reforms are successfully put into practice in the country. Large sports facilities and equestrian complexes, stadiums, a big number of special sports schools, health resorts and recreational centers that meet international standards are massively built and put into operation in Turkmenistan. Together with 45 Asian countries, 17 countries of Australia and Oceania have announced their intention to participate in the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games. The fact testifies to the international recognition of our country’s state sport development policy, – says the congratulatory message.
