New underpasses, which will first and foremost ensure safety of pedestrians, are under construction in the busiest sections of Azadi Street – near “Gulistan” Market and “Teke-Bazar” Market. Here, throughout the day, thousands of Ashgabat residents, who hastened to do the shopping at the popular markets, crossed the street. “Nata Inşaat Turism Ticaret ve Sanayi A.Ş”, a Turkish company, which contributes to the improvement of road transport infrastructure against the order of Ashgabat city khyakimlik, is building underground pedestrian tunnels with the use of modern building technologies. Continuing efforts are being made in the capital to renovate and repair scores of its highways and roads. By now, a big number of bridges, pedestrian underpasses and overpasses have been built.
