On the eve of the 26th anniversary of independence, farmers in Turkmenistan completed an important agricultural campaign of planting winter grain, and fully met their contractual obligations having collected over 1 million 50 thousand tons of raw cotton. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated grain and cotton farmers, machinery operators and other workers of the agro-industry, and everyone who was a part of this glorious achievement with the labor victory. As noted by the Turkmen leader, based on the best practices of agricultural production and grand farming traditions of our ancestors, farmers showed a good example of effective labor and promptly completed planting of wheat, a crop of strategic importance. High quality and high level of organization of the sowing season spring a bountiful harvest. Turkmen grain farmers ensure food security in the country and enhance the export potential of the farming industry. Another important achievement is meeting contractual obligations on cotton harvesting that is another strategically important raw material for the national economy of the country. Thanks to the work of tenant cotton farmers and mulkdars, combine operators and drivers, irrigation engineers, agrarian scientists and other specialists, state targets for the harvesting of the “white gold” were fully met. Currently, large-scale works are ongoing in the country to reform the agri-business and turn it into a highly profitable, globally competitive sector. All the conditions are created for Turkmen farmers to ensure productive labor, abundant harvests and prosperous living, states the message. Farmers have access to technical maintenance, fertilizers, seeds and chemicals for pest control at reduced prices. The Government systematically purchases advanced high-capacity agricultural machinery of globally renowned brands and guarantees timely payments to tenants for submitted products. All of this allowed Turkmen farmers to achieve the double labor victory that they dedicated to the 26th anniversary of independence of our Motherland.
