On the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of National Security, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov addressed a congratulatory statement to its staff. “Today our country is preparing to celebrate the 26th anniversary of its independence. Great successes are achieved in all branches of the national economy. Programs aimed at building Turkmenistan as an industrially developed, socially oriented, economically powerful country are being implemented successfully. Commissioning of the first stage of the Asian International Railway Corridor, Atamyrat – Ymamnazar – Akina; road and railway bridges over the Amyderya River, Turkmenabat – Farap, are evidences of our country’s transforming into an important transport and transit hub of international significance”, states the address by the head of state. Soon, we will hold in the Ahal Province the regular session of the Council of the Elderly where several decisions, important for the nation and the people, will be adopted. They will guarantee conditions for our people’s happy and prosperous life. The policy of good-neighborliness and positive neutrality, that we implement, further strengthens the country’s role on the global arena. This year, the United Nations has declared 12 December the International Day of Neutrality, which became yet another confirmation of Turkmenistan’s high international standing. The past 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games are also an evidence of improving global ranking of our nation. Turkmenistan’s election as the first country in the region to organize the large-scale Games became yet another proof of recognition of our country’s contribution to the strengthening of global peace and development of the sporting movement. We ensured the high level in organizing these Games. Our masters of sport raised our country’s profile even higher. I express to you my deep appreciation for your contribution to ensuring security at the 5th Asian Games and successful holding of the competitions, stresses the message. Achievements are closely interconnected with security in the country. You must safeguard the nation’s well-being and the people’s peaceful life even more vigilantly. Special duty and tremendous responsibility to protect the constitutional order, border integrity, economic interests, scientific and technical potential and defensive power, lie on your shoulders. Creating a favorable social and political climate is another important task. You must withstand threats and challenges of our time, prevent such hazards as terrorism, extremism and cybercrime from entering our country. You must join and increase efforts together with other law enforcement authorities to fight corruption and bribery and fully root out such negative occurrences. For successful implementation of important tasks, it is crucial to enhance political and professional training; have a good understanding of modern science, innovative technology; systematically practice sports. By creating favorable conditions for your impeccable discharge of duties, we will continue to work towards strengthening the logistical and technical capacity of the Ministry of National Security, reads the Presidential message”.
