Today, President of Turkmenistan has had a meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, who offered warm wishes to the head of state for his 60th birthday. Appreciative of the well-wishes, the head of state noted with satisfaction a permanently friendly and good neighborly character of the Turkmen-Uzbek relations. During the meeting, an exchange of opinions was held on key aspects of Turkmen-Uzbek partnership. In particular, having supported Uzbekistan’s willingness to participate in building the international corridor, “Central Asia – Middle East” (Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman), President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov invited the neighboring country’s business community to take part in the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project, which is currently in the implementation phase, as well as in the development of offshore oil and gas fields in the Caspian Sea. The parties also addressed the issues of enhancing cooperation in the humanitarian sphere and in the field of sport. The Prime Minister of Uzbekistan noted that Uzbek athletes would undoubtedly participate in the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat.
