On the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, Mejlis Chairwoman A. Nurberdyeva received the credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Africa to Turkmenistan Ms. Keitumetse Seipelo Thandeka Matthews. During a conversation the diplomat was informed on priorities of the foreign and domestic policy of Turkmenistan. Particular attention was paid to socio-economic reforms and large-scale projects aimed at systematic improvement of the people’s wellbeing. The ambassador was also briefed on the structure and legislative activities of the national parliament. Ms. Keitumetse Seipelo Thandeka Matthews assured that in the capacity of diplomat of the RSA she will make every effort to intensify cooperation as in a bilateral format so within the authoritative international organizations. Trade, economic, humanitarian and entrepreneurial sectors were specified as the promising areas of partnership. The issues of discussion included the opportunities for collaboration in the field of tourism and sports. The same day, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Africa was received in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where views were exchanged on various aspects of bilateral cooperation.
