According to the tradition, new stage play of Magtumguly National Music and Drama Theatre is timed to the Day of Cultural and Art Workers instituted on June 27, 2008 and since widely observed in Turkmenistan. This day entered the history of national art as a date of revival of Turkmen opera. Unlike previous opera performances, the most modern subject – preparation of 2017 Asian Games, is laid in the base of «Ruhubelentler» opera. The play narrates of the modern life of the youth including students and sportsmen. The music is made in co-authorship of two composers. It was the first time when professional artists and students of art schools met with sports representatives at the stage. At the same time, paying tribute to national opera tradition, the author of libretto included romantic line into the plot of the paly. Bright and vital musical overture set the pitch to the whole opera, which glorifies patriotism, talent and inspiration of our people - the peacemaker and creator. The play is started with the scene of celebration in the city park; the aria on hospitality, friendship and inspiration is performed. The dynamic of the action is reflected in modern rhythms conveying active preparation of our country to large sports forum. Each of the characters of the play trains in certain sports preparing to participate in the competitions of 2017 Games. The storyline of the play also harmonically includes sports dances and songs dedicated to the city of love – white marble Turkmen capital. At the same time, the authors of «Ruhubelentler» tried to combine modern day with the history in the opera. References to the past are traced in the scenes narrating on Gyrougly and his horse Gyrat. Ahalteke horse is a true cultural heritage of Turkmen people and plays in the stage as acting character, the participant of show jumping competition and as a symbol invariably presenting in many scenes. Traditionally, the lyrical storyline is played. Loving couples honourably undergo all the ordeals what is also demonstrated in comparison with famous destan images of Gyorogly and Agayunus. Musical dramatic concept of new play widely implements the opportunities of large stages, the opera is rich in expanded chorus and choreographic episodes. The authors’ music is energetic and sometime is close by the intonation to national folklore and has a number of expressive remembering features. The art band managed to convey the inspiration of Turkmenistan citizens preparing to host such high international competitions for the first time. Multifunctional decorations aslo highlights the dynamic of our everyday life and celebrations. The opera is crowned with the scene of public celebration filed with vital power. The final song “We are ready! We are ready, the Games!” is performed in the final.
