It was opened the building of the Executive Committee of the International Fund for saving the Aral Sea (IFAS). On June 16, the decision on creation of this structure was signed at the government session by the President of IFAS, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov. Minister of Agriculture and Water Economy of Turkmenistan N.Sapardurdyev and the UN resident coordinator, permanent representative of the United Nations Development Programme of Turkmenistan Ye.Panova spoke to an audience and congratulated on the start of the IFAS Executive Committee’s work. In front of the office, there were hoisted the state flags of IFAS constituent countries – Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
