In Ashgabat, the third session of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Hungarian commission for economic cooperation was held at the Ministry of Economy and Development. The delegation has arrived led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Istvan Mykola. From the Turkmen side, heads and representatives of departments took part in the meeting. The parties expressed their proposals on increasing trade. The emphasis was laid on the interaction between the chambers of commerce and industry of countries in attracting business circles to the implementation of investment projects and the creation of joint ventures. Members of commission noted the potential of the trade and economic partnership, including by increasing the volume and assortment of Turkmen textile exports and handmade carpets to the Hungarian market. The participants exchanged views on the preparation of the draft Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of Hungary on international road transport of passengers and cargo. Particular attention was paid to the energy issue, the prospects for the supply of Turkmen natural gas in the European direction, proposals were considered for the export of liquefied gas, as well as products of gas chemical enterprises. As emphasized, there are prospects for expanding partnership in agriculture; it was noted that it is expedient to exchange experience in the field of animal husbandry and veterinary science, manage the agro-industrial complex, introduce advanced technologies for storing and processing agricultural products and create bioenergy centers. The participants spoke in favor of developing cooperation in the field of water resources management, introduction of water saving technologies. Possibilities of Hungarian companies participation in projects on development of municipal water supply were discussed. It was noted the need to develop partnership in the field of healthcare and medical industry, the possibilities of training Turkmen students in medical universities in Hungary and raising the level of professional skills of Hungarian specialists at the International Scientific and Educational Center in Turkmenistan were considered. The participants noted the priority nature of cooperation in such areas along the humanitarian line as culture, education, science, sports and tourism. The expediency of joint events, participation in conferences and forums in Turkmenistan and Hungary was emphasized. Mutual invitations were made to visit Ashgabat during the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games and Budapest - the travel exhibition ""Travel -2018"". Following the meeting, the protocol was signed. As noted, the countries intend to strengthen cooperation on the basis of the agreements reached during the official visit of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov to Hungary in 2014. The first meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation were held in 2015 and 2016.
