On the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, Mejlis Chairwoman of the country A.Nurberdieva received credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic to Turkmenistan Andreas Friganas. The ambassador plenipotentiary of the friendly state was briefed on the key areas of the peace-loving foreign policy of our country, the priority of which was and remains broad international cooperation, based on the principles of equality and mutual benefit. The ambassador was also informed on the ongoing large-scale reforms that have a clearly expressed social orientation, as well as especially significant projects of national and international importance which are carried out jointly with foreign partners in various fields. During a discussion of the possibilities for establishing partnerships in a number of promising areas, the Greek ambassador confirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening relations with Turkmenistan, both in bilateral and multilateral formats, including within major international organizations. A separate topic of the conversation was the legislative activity of the Mejlis. The information was also provided on the ongoing work on promoting international cooperation and expansion of inter-parliamentary relations. At the same time, emphasis was made on the expediency of establishing Turkmen-Greek relations between the parliaments of the two countries.
