President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov will hold talks with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who will be on a working visit in Turkmenistan on May 19-20 this year. At a joint session of the Cabinet and the State Security Council, Cabinet Deputy Chairman and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov reported on the preparations for the Turkmen-Uzbek top level talks. The agenda of the talks, which provides for signing of a package of bilateral documents, will include a wide range of issues related to development of the Turkmen-Uzbek partnership. President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov stressed that the regular nature of the summit meetings demonstrates the mutual commitment to and interest of both countries in expanding effective cooperation, established in the traditions of friendship and good-neighborliness and on an equal, constructive and long-term basis. The head of state pointed out the existence of a solid potential and prospects for further development of interstate cooperation.
