A delegation is sent to the Islamic Republic of Iran comprising representatives of public organizations, creative intelligentsia, scientists, educators, media members and honorary elders. On May 12, the participants in the pilgrimage plan to visit the museum of Magtymguly Fragi in the etrap of Magtymguly in Balkan velayat. On May 13, according to the national customs and traditions, appropriate rites will be performed in Iran at the burial sites of the great poets-thinkers. In this connection, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov noted that the traditional pilgrimage action is an expression of the deepest respect of the Turkmen people to their outstanding sons - humanistic poets and national spirit expressers. The Head of State emphasized the importance of Turkmen-Iranian humanitarian contacts as an integral factor in strengthening good-neighborly relations, their role in studying, preserving and widely popularizing the work of the classics of Turkmen literature and philosophical thought, and, in general, the rich original historical and cultural heritage of both peoples that made a worthy contribution to the treasury of universal human values. At a meeting of the Government on May 5, the President of Turkmenistan gave instructions on holding festive celebrations in the etrap of Magtymguly, in the poet’s small homeland, where literary readings, competitions, exhibitions, concerts and other cultural events will be organized on the occasion of Constitution Day and poetry of Magtymguly Fragi.
