President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and First Vice Premier of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin outline priorities of bilateral cooperation

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin. Having expressed the gratitude for the opportunity of personal meeting, the guest conveyed warm greetings from President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to the Head of the State. A. Mamin noted that the Government of Kazakhstan is interested in expansion of versatile cooperation with Turkmenistan, which under the leadership of its President achieved impressive success in social and economic development and recognition of the world’s community. Having mentioned that our country pays great attention to the development of traditional relations with the Republic of Kazakhstan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conveyed return greetings and warm wishes to the Government of neighbouring countries. During the meeting, the Head of Turkmenistan and his guest shared the visions on condition and prospects of bilateral cooperation. It was highlighted that strong impulse to activation of cooperation was given by the agreements achieved on high level during the State visit of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Kazakhstan in April of this year. Mentioning existing considerable potential for further intensification of fruitful partnership, the Turkmen leader and First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan stated mutal willingness of the sides to provide its efficient implementation. Trade and economic sphere, energy, transport, communication and agricultural sector were named among the priority directions of cooperation. In this relation, the guest noted that TAPI gas main project implemented by the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan presents large interest for Kazakhstan. Due to modern realities, the cooperation in formation and modernization of regional transport infrastructure as well as establishment of close economic cooperation between border regions of both countries seem to be perspective. In this context, the Turkmen leader focused the attention on the activity of Joint Intergovernmental Turkmen – Kazakh Commission for trade and economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation, which proved itself as effective mechanism of realization of the agreements as well as on regular bilateral meetings on different level. The importance of consolidation of relations in cultural and humanitarian sphere was highlighted. Organisation of Culture Days, educational actions, sport competitions and other events help to expand friendship relations between the people. The importance of participation of Turkmenistan in EXPO 2017 in Astana in the coming summer under the slogan “the Energy of Future” was also mentioned. At the end of the meeting, president of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin confirmed invariable commitment of both countries to relations of friendship and strategic partnership. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan O. Nurbayev also took part in the meeting.
