Telephone conversation was held between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirzieev. The heads of the neighboring countries discussed the status and priorities of bilateral cooperation in terms of the fulfilment of agreements and long-range plans, reached during the Uzbek leader’s first state visit to Turkmenistan, held in the current year’s March. Whereby, it was noted the positive dynamics of their implementation. Noting with satisfaction the high level of trust and understanding, the leaders of two countries confirmed the existence of good prospects of the fruitful partnership building in all spheres, both bilaterally and multilaterally. It was noted the importance of regular contacts at the highest intergovernmental level, particularly within the work of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Uzbek Commission on trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation, meetings of business circles of the two countries. The sides emphasized the strategic role of road and rail bridges across the Amu-Darya River, recently commissioned by the Turkmen side. The interlocutors noted the significance of the humanitarian component of the Turkmen-Uzbek relations, underlining the focus on deepening fruitful contacts in the culture, sport and tourism. President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov proposed his Uzbek counterpart personally to size the capabilities of the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone by visiting the rapidly developing sea resort. The leader of nation said that children’s health centers, cottage complexes and luxury hotels on the ecologically clean Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea are ready to receive visitors from Uzbekistan to rest. The Turkmen leader invited President Shavkat Mirzieev to our country for a working visit and to be acquainted with the development of Balkan velayat, where projects for the development of the region’s richest natural resources, its recreational opportunities are implemented, the large seaport is constructed, which has a geo-strategic value, particularly taking into account the commissioned bridge across the Amu-Darya. The Uzbek President gratefully accepted the invitation of President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov to visit Turkmenistan. The visit’s dates will be agreed through diplomatic channels. The sides also exchanged views on the mutual-interest current questions of regional and international agenda. President Shavkat Mirzieev noted the significance of the held in Ashgabat Sixth Foreign Ministers meeting of participating countries of the “Central Asia plus Japan” dialogue, where along with other states, there is Uzbekistan as well. The leaders of the two neighboring states noted with satisfaction that the existing high level of mutual understanding between the two countries, similarity of positions and attitudes on the issues of regional and international politics would continue to serve as a solid foundation for constructive interaction.
