On May 1, the sixth meeting of the foreign ministers of the countries participating in the ""Central Asia + Japan"" Dialogue will be held in Ashgabat, which is an effective instrument of constructive multilateral partnership. From 2014 until now, Turkmenistan has been chairing this structure. During the meeting, issues related to efforts in such areas as ensuring regional security, interaction in trade, economic, investment, humanitarian and cultural spheres will be discussed. The issue of climate change and prevention of environmental and natural disasters will also be the subject of extensive discussion and exchange of views. Following the meeting, it is planned to sign a Joint Statement, as well as the adoption of the Action Plan for Regional Cooperation on Transport and Logistics. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Japan. In recent years, the traditional Turkmen-Japanese partnership has become much more active. This was directly facilitated by the visits of the President of Turkmenistan to Japan in 2009, 2013 and 2015, as well as the visit of the Japanese Prime Minister to our country in October 2015, which became important milestones in the history of interstate dialogue. The participation of world-renowned Japanese companies in the implementation of major investment projects in various segments of Turkmenistan's economy is a clear indication of the success of bilateral relations, backed by a solid regulatory and legal framework.
