The National Institute of Sports and Tourism hosted a practical conference on the 5th Indoor and Martial Arts Asian Games that related to the issues of considering the symbols of the Games, training of Turkmen athletes and volunteers, communications activity and marketing promotion of the AIMAG-2017 project among foreign media. The conference that was attended by teachers from various universities, students, leading athletes and coaches, was organized by the Executive Committee on Preparation for the 5th Asian Games and the State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography. The upcoming in September Ashgabat Games will be unprecedented in this series: this will be for the first time that medals will be competed in more than 20 kinds of sports, and a record number of teams is expected to participate from 62 countries of Asia and Oceania. The previous Games hosted only 12 competitions, and the number of participating countries was 43. During the meeting, a short video film was shown about the construction of the Olympic Village, recruiting the volunteer corps, training of the Turkmen athletes who are provided the opportunity to acquire additional skills and experience at the largest international competitions. For example, the Sambo Cup “Memorial of A. Harlampiev” has been held in Moscow recently with the participation of about 300 athletes from 27 countries. The athletes of Turkmenistan showed one of the best results during the tournament, having won 15 prizes (three gold, seven silver and three bronze medals), and having taken second place in the team score in the combat version and third in the Greco-Roman wrestling. At the same time, at the tournament in Riga, our kickboxers won 29 prizes (16 gold, eight silver and five bronze medals). Participants in the conference saw videos about the Asian Games-2017, shot by the TV channels of Russia, Turkey, Nepal, Singapore and other countries.
