The ceremony of inaugurating the newly-elected President of Turkmenistan took place at the Ruhyyet Palace in the Turkmen capital. Putting his right hand on the Constitution of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took the oath of allegiance to the country and people. “Assuming the office of President of Turkmenistan, I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully, honourably and diligently execute the high duties entrusted to me; will to the best of my ability protect the independence and the status of neutrality of Turkmenistan; will respect and ‘safeguard’ the rights and freedoms of a person and a citizen; will observe and defend the Constitution of Turkmenistan; will devote all my efforts and knowledge to ensure the unity of the Turkmen people, to protect their peaceful life, to use all the opportunities so that the citizens of Turkmenistan magnify the glory of present and future generations of the Turkmen people; will faithfully serve to the people of Turkmenistan”. The certificate of the President of Turkmenistan was awarded to the newly-elected leader of the Turkmen state. The National Anthem of Turkmenistan sounded catching up by all participants of the ceremony. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov paid tribute to the State Flag of Turkmenistan. The newly-elected President of Turkmenistan took the office and addressed the ceremony participants.
