There was a telephone conversation between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The Uzbek Leader congratulated his Turkmen counterpart with a convincing victory in the election of the President of Turkmenistan and wished good health and further success in his important work at the highest state post. Having thanked for congratulations and good wishes, the Turkmen Leader expressed belief that the existing high level of mutual understanding and trust between the two countries, as well as the proximity of positions on topical issues of regional and international politics will continue to serve as a firm foundation for constructive partnership both in bilateral and multilateral formats. In the course of the telephone conversation the concerned discussion of prospects of the Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation on their key areas in the context of implementation of the previously reached agreements and priorities of socio-economic development of the two states took place. It was noted that there were good opportunities for further expansion of mutually beneficial partnership in trade and economic sphere, transport and communications sector, deepening cultural ties. The two sides also exchanged views on the regional agenda. During the telephone conversation President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov invited President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to visit Turkmenistan.
